Lawrence Roy Ford, 93, of Hilliard, died on March 14, 2022 after a long illness and a stroke. Lawrence was born May 30, 1928 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, the son of the late Charles and Elsie (Fox) Ford. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his first wife Patricia and his siblings Charles and Doris. On March 30, 2003, Lawrence married Joann Mason. He is also survived by his children: Randy Ford, Brian (Julie) Ford, Carla (Phil) Garinger; grandchildren: Timothy, Kimber, Daniel, Danielle, Jon, Ben, Hana, Ian, Jared, Alex, Ryan, Shaun and Ethen; great-grandchildren: Aliza and Aundrea a cousin Linda. Major Ford began his military career in 1946 as a member of the US Marine Corps, he had always wanted to fly since he was in elementary school. With the formation of the United States Air Force, the Marine program closed, he then attended the United States Army Air Corps and later transferred to the newly formed United States Air Force. He continued to fly for the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserves until his retirement in 1978. Along the way he was a test pilot and trained new pilots. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and United Nations Service Medal. He loved aviation, history and visiting museums with his family! Lawrence was a real estate agent with Wears-Kahn-McMenamy, then formed his own company, Fordson Realty in 2015 until his retirement in 2020, aged 91. He was also the past president of the East Links Condo Assoc. Master Mason with Humboldt Lodge #476 F&AM and Avery Lodge #493 F&AM. Services will be private.
