SPNN Neighborhood Video Project
"Streetcars to Skyline" Documentaries now Online!
Miss the January 2010 screening at the Hamline Midway Library? Or you were there, and what to see them again? You're in luck!
Several youth-produced video documentaries were created in late 2009 as part of a "Neighborhood Video Project" of the Saint Paul Neighborhood Network (SPNN). They were researched, shot, and edited by a group of youth living at Saint Paul's Skyline Tower. Subjects covered include:
- A history of transportation along University Avenue
- Oral histories from residents of Skyline Tower
-
Several short mini-documentaries and video diaries
While Skyline Tower, a building located at 1247 Saint Anthony Avenue, is not technically within the boundaries of the Hamline Midway neighborhood, several members of the History Corps assisted with this project.
View these documentaries online via the SPNN Web site:

Placeography
We're now entering and collecting neighborhood data on Placeography Web site from the Minnesota Historical Society:
"Placeography is a wiki where you can share the history of and stories about a house, building, farmstead, public land, neighborhood or any place to which you have a personal connection."
