A near-capacity crowd of 80 people attended the opening event of the 2007 History Corps Speaker Series featuring author Don Empson. The presentation was held in the Hamline Midway Branch Library auditorium on Thursday, January 11, 2007.

BOOK INFORMATION Don Empson is author of the totally revised and much-anticipated The Street Where You Live: A Guide to the Place Names of St. Paul. (University of Minnesota Press, 2006). For many years, the original 1975 version of Empson's book held the honor of "most stolen book in the St. Paul Library system."
